Cleaning Express is delighted to announce it has won the Royal Greenwich Business Award in Workforce Development. Thank you to the Royal Greenwich Borough Council, the main sponsor of the awards U+I, and all those who helped make the event so successful at O2 Intercontinental. We are also grateful to East London Business Place and the sponsor for our category, London South East Colleges.
This award is a huge deal to us. Cleaning Express’ management team, as well as our office staff and cleaners, all deserve this award. Cleaning Express employees have worked hard to ensure our staff has the training, skills, and knowledge they need to be successful. They also want to make sure that Cleaning Express is an enjoyable, safe, and friendly place to work. Cleaning Express is a team of dedicated individuals who play a vital role in the success of the company and team. We thank every one of them for their hard work.
What are the Royal Greenwich Business Awards
The Royal Greenwich Business Awards celebrates and highlights business excellence in Royal Greenwich. The awards this year were presented in conjunction with the main sponsors, U+I and the South East London Chamber of Commerce.
Royal Greenwich has 11,600 local businesses, which provide more than 100,000 jobs. This year, the awards were divided into 12 categories with over 230 applicants. The applicants come from a wide range of industries and businesses in the borough that provide excellence to both their employees and customers. We faced some stiff competition for the Workforce Development Category.
The Workforce Development Award
This award recognizes the excellent development of employees within a company. We had to give specific examples to demonstrate Cleaning Express’s commitment to developing its team and providing more opportunities for local people when we applied for this award.
We demonstrated our commitment to staff during the application process by showcasing free online cleaning courses. This 26-video training course is designed to help those seeking employment in the cleaning sector become the best cleaners possible.
Our commitment to making Cleaning Express an exciting, safe, and fun place to work continues. We have achieved Health and Safety certifications and improved our health and Safety training in the past year. This has improved the professionalism of staff and created more job opportunities within the company for those who are interested in health and safety.
Empowering our workers
We also demonstrated our philosophy of empowerment by allowing our teams to be involved in company decisions. These decisions directly impact their training, qualifications, and daily working habits. We feel that Cleaning Express will continue to move in the right direction as our cleaners and head office staff make decisions. This is for our customers and staff’s benefit.
Why did we enter the contest?
Cleaning Express has been committed to providing the best cleaning services possible in London for many years. This meant focusing on hiring and training the best likely people. We knew that a fair salary, good management communication, and providing opportunities for locals all played an important role in creating a community of cleaners that we could be very proud of.
We have helped a variety of people in London’s boroughs by creating many opportunities. Our most recent program was to help Ukrainian refugees adapt to London life by offering sustainable employment and allowing them to rely less on the government’s assistance.
Our staff has been actively encouraged to progress, and we have offered them training and qualifications that will help them advance their career within the industry. Cleaning Express also gave them the opportunity to vote on what stuff they wanted.
We felt that Cleaning Express is an industry leader when it comes to workforce development. And that our progressive ethos may be enough, despite fierce competition, to win the award. We are proud to announce that Cleaning Express has won the Workforce Development Award at the Royal Greenwich Business Awards for 2022.
What is the Award?
This award is a sign of progress for everyone at Cleaning Express. We have worked hard to reward our staff for their efforts to promote growth.
This award proves that our company is on the right track. We have worked with the Living Wage Foundation to improve our health and safety standards and created free online courses for staff.
Cleaning Express is committed to continuing its growth across all areas of the business. We continue to hire Ukrainians who are newly arrived in London, as well as people living in the area. We provide them with training and offer assistance to other resources when needed.
We are thrilled to have won the Workforce Development Award, but our growth as a team will not stop there. We will continue to invest in our cleaners to ensure they are highly skilled, healthy, and happy. We are extremely proud of the staff who won this award and will continue to invest as much in them as they invested in us.
This is our last opportunity to thank the Royal Greenwich Business Awards for the Workforce Development Award 2022. Also, we’d like to thank the entire staff of Cleaning Express for their growth and development. We’d also like to thank all of the team at Cleaning Express for their continued growth and development.
What is the living wage?
The real living wage is higher than the government’s minimum or National Living wage. It is an hourly rate that is calculated independently based on actual costs of living. The Living Wage Foundation announces the rate each year as part of Living Wage Week. The current rate in the UK is PS10.90, while the rate in London is PS11.95, which reflects the higher cost of living.
Cleaning Express is one of over 12,000 organizations that have chosen to pay the Living Wage. A hard-working day deserves a fair wage.
